Hopefully this is just the first on many more to come. This morning, after hours of working past their bedtimes, webos-internals ported their second game to the Pre using the SDL library that Palm provided in the 1.3.5 update. Rumors have it that Will Dietz (dtzWill) was able to whip this port up in 4 hours. Then, the game was packaged up to be launchable from the Pre by Rod Whitby. While it’s still limited (a non-playable demo), the developer plans to keep working on it to make it playable. On the precentral forums, dtzWill says “The keybindings presently are the biggest issue, and it seems to be non-trivial (see sdldoom's keybinding situation).” Keep on, keepin’ on WebOS-internals.
p.s. Quake is available via Preware right now.
