Using the Pre can be even easier if you know the correct gestures to use. Everyone knows the usual swipe-up for card view, swipe-back on gesture area to move back a level, and the oh so fun swipe-up-and-hold quick launch bar. But there are a couple more advanced gestures that can make the experience of a webOS phone better.

Full screen app switching! To turn on this feature, follow these steps:

- Go to the Screen & Lock icon
- Scroll down to Advanced Gestures
- Flip the switch to ON next to Switch Applications.
To use this feature, all you have to do is a long swipe from the left edge to the right edge or vice versa. Though it only cuts off about a second of your time, you don't need to go into card view!

Open top left and right menus with one swipe. Let's say you want to quickly enable WiFi on your phone. Instead of tapping the screen to pull down the menu, just swipe down from the top right corner of your screen. To view the menu in an application, swipe down from the top left corner. Now there's no need for multiple tries to pull down the menu.

Resize cards and card order. To do this, tap and hold a card while in card view to resize the card. Drag the cards around to change the order. I don't know when you'll have to switch around the order of apps, but do whatever spins your propeller, as my lit teacher used to say
-
Quickly end a phone call. To do this, throw the Phone app card off the screen while in card view to end a call. For some reason, this always glitches up for me and the app opens back up again, but i'm sure that will be fixed soon.
So now you know how fun and intuitive advanced webOS gestures can be, but now lets see when Palm gets us those fun and intuitive apps.
‘I don’t know when you’ll have to switch around the order of apps’
use it with full screen app switching of course. like when you have two browsers open but aren’t next to each other, now you can constantly switch between the two (while one page loads) with one swipe each.
I kinda see what you are saying, but doesn’t the browser stop loading when you switch to another card?
don’t think so, open two browsers, click a link, switch to the other browser and do whatever. wait a reasonable time for first page to load then switch back. first page would be fully loaded or close to it.
Hello – good blog, just looking around some blogs, seems a pretty nice platform you are using. I’m currently using Wordpress for a few of my sites but looking to change one of them over to a platform like to yours as a trial run. Anything in specific you would recommend about it?
hey there I just wanted to comment your blog and say that I really enjoyed reading your blog post here. It was very informative and I also digg the way you write! Keep it up and I’ll be back to read more soon mate
