Pixi Envy? Artist faceplates for Pre

If you haven’t seen them, the limited-edition back covers available for the Palm Pixi are awesome. I must say I am totally jealous of all the Pixi owners that have them. The covers give you an opportunity to customize your Pixi and support extremely creative up-and-coming artists. However, what if you are stuck with a Pre because you think the Pixi just isn’t worth it? Well, according to Palm you are out of luck. But Ed Hardy, cell phone accessory manufacture, has your back (pun intended). Right now, you can pick up front and back covers for 29.99 (a whole 20 dollars less than the Pixi covers). As an added bonus the products ships with a nice anti-glare screen protector. While The Mx Web hasn’t tested it ourselves, we hear that they are fully touchstone combatable for all you touchstone users. We are trying to get hands on one right now so we can deliver you a review.

While these cover designs are admittedly not for everyone, they are certainly a move in the right direction. Even if that just means more case options, I want to see more accessories being produced for WebOS phones. Perhaps it is because of the Pre’s ergonomic slider that it is hard to design for or that a WebOS phone doesn’t have large enough market share to turn a profit, but the options for WebOS users are currently limited. Nevertheless, cool accessories or not, I am extremely satisfied with my WebOS phone.
